    REGULATIONS

    FOR GEN-SET PRODUCTION

    Capacity


    Emergency output: For 110% overload on the rated output. When using the maximum of 500 hours annually with the average load of 70 ~ 75%


    Continuous output: The continuous operation for an hour or above with the annual average of the usage for 70~75% 

       - kW = kVA x 0.8 (Power Factor),

       - 760mmHg, 25°C, relative humidity of 30% basis.

    Cooling Method

    * Water cooled radiator attached (Heat-exchange type

    is optional)

    * As the heat-exchange type is not well-ventilated, the

    underground water and coolant shall be supplied sufficiently,

    and this has advantages on noises; however, it generally

    requires a considerable installation / construction costs.


    Protective Functions

    * Low Lubricant Pressure: 0.6kg/cm3

    * High Temp. Coolant: 95°C or 103°C, or above

    * Engine Overspeed: 120% of the rated or above

    * No. of Starting Failure: 3 times

    * Overvoltage: 110% of the rated voltage or above 

       (100 ~ 150%)

    * Low voltage: 90% of the rated voltage or below 

       (60 ~ 90%)

    * Overcurrent: 120% of the rated current or above 

       (110 ~ 150%)


    Test Inspection & Properties


    1. Structure & Visual Inspections

     - There shall not be any damage, and oil/water leakage.

     - The condition of the terminal and its connections shall be

    fine.

     - The number of wiring shall be accorded with the diagram.

     - The engine oil level shall be within the upper/lower limit

    of the level gauge.


    2. Starting Test

     - MANUAL: It shall be started by the key software within

    30 seconds after cranking, however, P.B. shall be used for a

    separate/stand-alone type.

     - AUTOMATIC: When there is a commercial power outage, start the generator within 30 seconds after the cranking


    3. Load Test:

    Load test shall be fine for continuous and load variation

    testing of 100% - 0% - 25% - 50% - 75% - 100%. - 10 minutes for

    each load.


    4. Overload Test: Test shall be fine when driving for

    1 hour at 110% load – 110% load (Emergency output)


    5. Voltage Adjustment Range: ±5% of the rated voltage

    or above


    6. Steady state & Transient state of the Voltage Regulation

     - Steady State: When regulating the steady state voltage 

    from the full load to no load, or no load to the full load,

    it shall be within ±2.5% (the range of fluctuation shall be 5%).

     - Transient State: When regulating the transient state rapidly from the full load to no load, or no load to the full load, the maximum voltage regulation rate shall be within 30%,

    the time of return shall be within 2 seconds, and the range of fluctuation shall be within 6%. - C, T & Reactor shall be

    within 20%.


    7. Frequency Fluctuation Rate (Range of fluctuation): When changing the load from the full load to no load, or no load to the full load, the rate of frequency fluctuation shall be within 5% of the rated frequency.


    8. Temperature Rise Test: The condition of temperature rise, after the load test until the temperature of the alternator to

    the saturation state.

     - Stator Winding: 100°C or below (Resistance Method)

     - Field Winding: 100°C or below (Resistance Method)

     - Bearing: 40°C or below (Thermometer Method)

     - Frame: 70°C or below (Thermometer Method)


    9. Overcurrent Test: When applying 150% of the rated

    current, there shall not be any abnormality for 15 seconds.


    10. Waveform Distortion Rate: There shall be within 10% of

    the sinusoidal (sine) wave at the rated voltage with no load


    11. Insulation Resistance:

     -The resistance between armature winding per each phase

    and the ground at the saturation state shall be 3MΩ

    or above ( ㉿ )

     - The resistance between the field winding and the ground

    shall be 3MΩ or above ( ㉿ )


    12. Short-circuit Ratio: This shall be 0.4 or above at no load

    properties when testing the short-circuit


    13. Withstand Voltage Test

     - Between the armature winding per each phase and the

    ground

     - Between the field winding and the ground 

     - 2E+1000V (1500V minimum) E : The rated voltage

     - 10E X (1500V minimum) Ex : Field voltage

     - There shall not be any abnormality for a minute or

    above, when applying the above conditions.


    14. Overspeed Test: There shall be no mechanical issue,

    when running for a minute at the 120% revolution count 

    of the rated speed 

      – This could be replaced with the protection/safety

    circuit test


    15. Protection Circuit:

     - Temperature rise of the coolant: 95 ~ 103 °C

    or above – Engine Stop

     - Low lubricant pressure: 0.6kg/cm3 

    or below - Alarm bell display

     - Engine and Speed: 120% of the rated speed

    or above – Lamp On

    9. Overcurrent Test: When applying 150% of the rated current, there shall not be any abnormality for 15 seconds.

     

    10. Waveform Distortion Rate: There shall be within 10% of the sinusoidal (sine) wave at the rated voltage with no load

     

    11. Insulation Resistance:

     -The resistance between armature winding per each phase and the ground at the saturation state shall be 3MΩ or above ( ㉿ )

     - The resistance between the field winding and the ground shall be 3MΩ or above ( ㉿ )

     

    12. Short-circuit Ratio: This shall be 0.4 or above at no load properties when testing the short-circuit

     

    13. Withstand Voltage Test

     - Between the armature winding per each phase and the ground

     - Between the field winding and the ground 

     - 2E+1000V (1500V minimum) E : The rated voltage

     - 10E X (1500V minimum) Ex : Field voltage

     - There shall not be any abnormality for a minute or above,

        when applying the above conditions.
